Eco Sustainable Jewerly Making Woodwork Carving Mix of green colors of tagua nut thin slices - beads from Colombia. Vegetable ivory nut. Pack of 15 slices. Tagua “vegetable ivory” is a white nut that grows in Colombia. The palm grows in the wild at lower elevations across Colombia, so there is no need to start tagua plantations. Locals collect fruit from the forest floor year-round after it falls from the tree, and the seeds are then extracted and dried. The artisans slice the nuts, tint them in simmering pots of colorful dye and assemble the pieces into different shapes, color and sizes. We have a great variety of beds, buttons, necklaces, bracelets and frames, among others. Due to the nature and size of the tagua nuts, all sizes are approximate…not exact. Fair trade.
